The management of Hubbell Lighting, Inc., Greenville, SC, is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard P. Abernethy to the position of Vice President, Life Safety Brand Management.
Richard comes to Hubbell Lighting, Inc. from Dialight Corporation, where he served as National Sales Manager of Solid State Lighting, and previously, from Lithonia Lighting, where he held various positions including Vice President of Outdoor Products and Vice President, Marketing-Lithonia Emergency Systems.
He is a graduate of North Carolina Sate University in Raleigh, NC with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Business Administration.
With twenty-seven years experience in the lighting industry combined with his specific knowledge of the emergency lighting products market, Richard brings a wealth of management expertise to his new position. Past accomplishments include significant market growth and profitability, patentable product innovations and alternate distribution channel development.
As Vice President, Life Safety Brand Management, he will focus on the management of Hubbell Lighting, Inc.’s life safety product brands, to include new product and market development opportunities, strategic planning and execution and brand profitability.
He will report to the Vice President/General Manager, Indoor Brands, Hubbell Lighting, Inc. Reporting to Richard will be the life safety brand marketing and new product development personnel.
Richard, his wife and their two sons will relocate from the Atlanta area to the Greenville, SC area in the near future.
Dual-Lite, a Hubbell Lighting, Inc. brand, announces the appointment of Brad Kies to the position of Director of Central Lighting Inverters.
As a member of the Dual-Lite team since 2006, Brad was instrumental in helping to stabilize and refocus the brand, increase consistency in customer service and develop new products, following its relocation from Cheshire, CT and transition to a member of the Hubbell Lighting Inc. family of brands.

With Brad’s specialized expertise in central lighting inverter design, manufacturing and sales, he will be responsible for integrating the unique aspects of the central lighting inverter business into the mainstream Dual-Lite brand product offering.
In his new role, Brad plans to travel with the Hubbell Lighting, Inc. sales group in support of central lighting inverter sales efforts. In addition, he will work with the Dual-Lite marketing department to develop expanded central lighting inverter sales tools including literature, and training, promotional and after-sale service programs.

Dual-Lite, a Hubbell Lighting, Inc. brand, is pleased to announce the appointment of John E. Lane to the position of Engineering Manager, life safety products.
With 25 years experience in the lighting industry (20 of those years dedicated exclusively to life safety equipment), John brings an extremely high level of expertise to his new position with Dual-Lite.
A graduate of Southern Polytechnic State University in Marietta, GA, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, John’s professional experience includes engineering department management and new product development assignments within Lithonia Lighting (an Acuity Brands company). During his career, John has designed and implemented significant product and process improvements that proved extremely beneficial to his previous employer.
As Engineering Manager for the Dual-Lite brand, his primary focus will involve the management of the new product design engineering team. Utilizing business case scenarios and product specifications developed by the marketing department, John and his team will convert concepts into reality by designing products that satisfy customer expectations, conform to applicable national safety codes and standards and meet internal cost and margin targets.
He will report to the Vice President/Brand Management, Life Safety, Hubbell Lighting, Inc. The life safety new product design engineering team will report to John.

Dual-Lite, a Hubbell Lighting, Inc. brand, is pleased to announce the promotion of Rob Papstein to the position of Product Manager, Emergency Lighting Units & Exit Signs.
Prior to his promotion to Product Manager, Rob held the position of Offshore Sourcing Manager with Hubbell Lighting, Inc., in Greenville, SC., providing liaison and logistical support for Hubbell Lighting, Inc. offshore sourcing initiatives.
Before relocating with Hubbell Lighting, Inc. to Greenville, SC, Rob held the position of Project Manager with Dual-Lite, a Hubbell Lighting, Inc. brand, in Cheshire, CT. Additional experience includes a 10 year stint as Production Manager for an electronics firm, and 10 years military experience serving his country with the U.S. Air Force.
While with the U.S. Air Force, Rob pursued Business Management studies with the University of Maryland.
In his new role, Rob will be responsible for identifying product and market opportunities for Dual-Lite brand life safety products, including emergency lighting units and exit signs. He will assist heavily in the research, preparation and presentation of new product suggestions to include features and benefits, profitability and product launch elements.
He will report to the Manger, Product Development, for the Dual-Lite brand.
